Test-retest reliability of power driven from one-legged and two-legged counter movement jump with external load
(Test-Retest-Reliabilität von Schnellkraft getriebenen ein- und zweibeinigen Tiefsprüngen mit externen Lasten)
The purpose of this study was to evaluate the testretest reliability of one-legged and two-legged counter movement jump (CMJ). 18 male and 23 female elite athletes performed two test sessions with three days in between. Each test session included CMJ on one- and two-leg performed in a Smith-machine with external loads. Variable assessed was average power (AP). The test-retest reliability was analyzed throughout 3 (trail) × 2 (sessions) repeated measures ANOVA, Pearson`s correlation coefficient (rp), intraclass correlation coefficient (ICC), coefficient of variance (CV), Bland-Altman plots and limits of agreement (LOA). The correlation between the results from one-legged and two-leg CMJ was high (rp=0.85-0.95, p<0.001). The results showed a good intra-session and inter-session reliability for all indices, for one-legged AP (ICC=0.90-0.99, CV=4.3-7.8 %) and two-legged AP (ICC=0.95-0.99 CV=2.6-4.7%). The minimal detectable change expressed as percentage (MDC %) was 7.5-8.0% for two-legged CMJ and 12-29% for one-legged CMJ. The athletes and coaches are able to use both onelegged and two-legged CMJ to evaluate training progress.
