Study protocol for observation and technical analysis in inline speed skating-curve
Inline speed skating is a very technical sport, and therefore behavioural patterns are a very important subject to analyse. There are several types of curves, and this study proposes to compare skaters` performance on 2 types of curves: i) banked direct curve and ii) parabolic banked curve. To register skaters' motor patterns, an observation system was used. This study focused on registered skaters (aged between 17 and 25 years) performance when skating the 2nd curve of a 200-meter flying lap. Image capture will be done with 3 cameras shooting simultaneously. Existing patterns will be detected using the Theme 5.0 software (Magnusson, 2000; Magnusson et al., 2004). We observed different alphanumeric codes and different numbers of codes in the 6 moments of observation as in Medeiros et all (2025). Behavioural patterns were not similar when compared between tracks.
