The assessments take the form of a practical coaching assessment, a coaching log, written homestudy questions and a written project, and are designed to assess the coaches ability to apply their coaching knowledge. The Coach Assessors have all undergone formal training in assessing coaches in conjunction with sportscoach UK. The scheme has now been running successfully for 2 years with the number of registered triathlon coaches in the UK rising from less than 100 to more than 300 in that period.
